The Rotary Club of Fairfield, established in 1971, has a proud history of serving both the local community and global initiatives. Originally starting with 25 members, we now have around 60-65 dedicated individuals. Our primary fundraiser, "Drawdown," supports various service projects and charities.
Our largest initiative is the Annual Christmas Project, where we collaborate with the Fairfield City School System to support families in need. This involves home visits, toy and food discounts from local merchants, and food donations from the Fairfield Food Pantry. Through this project, we assist over 35 families and more than 100 children each Christmas.
Promoting literacy is a key focus for Rotary. We offer college scholarships to graduating seniors, recognize a local teacher with an "Educator of the Year" award, and present an Art Award during our spring "Arts Fair."
We support many local charities, including Caring Partners and the YMCA, and honor public servants with "Firefighter of the Year" and "Police Officer of the Year" awards. We also sponsor active Interact and Rotaract clubs, with our Interact Club being one of the most engaged in Southwest Ohio and the Rotaract Club at Miami University at Hamilton quickly making a positive impact.
